President Paul Kagame has urged African nations to pool resources and coordinate disaster response mechanisms as the continent faces increasingly severe climate-related catastrophes. Speaking at the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, Kagame emphasized that no single country can tackle the scale of current environmental challenges alone.

The proposal includes a $500 million pan-African climate resilience fund, with Rwanda pledging $20 million.
