Gahunda y'ubwisungane mu Rwanda yagurinwe

Ministeri y'Ubuzima yatangaje ko Mutuelle de Santé yaguriwe gahunda yo kuvura indwara zidakira, ubuzima bwo mu mutwe, n'ibizamini by'ikirenga. Izi ngamba zizatanga ubwishingizi ku 95% by'abaturage, abakene 25% bakishyurwa na Leta.

The Ministry of Health has announced a major expansion of the Mutuelle de Santé (community-based health insurance) program, adding coverage for chronic disease management, mental health services, and advanced diagnostic procedures. The reformed scheme, effective September 2026, will cover 95% of the population.

Premium contributions will remain tiered based on income, with the poorest 25% of households fully subsidized by the government. Rwanda's health insurance model is widely regarded as one of the most successful in Africa, contributing to a life expectancy increase from 58 years in 2010 to 71 years in 2026.
